🐕‍🦺 Dog Walking Safety – A Shared Responsibility 🐾

Police regularly respond to incidents involving dog bites, many of which can be prevented through responsible dog walking.

When out with your dog, please: • Keep your dog under control and on a lead where required
 

• Stay alert to your dog’s behaviour and signs of stress
• Give other people, children, and dogs plenty of space
• Avoid distractions such as mobile phones
• Use a secure lead, collar, or harness

Not everyone is comfortable around dogs, and not all dogs welcome interaction. Calm, controlled walks help prevent injuries and keep everyone safe.

It is a criminal offence if your dog is not under your control and injures someone.
